About This Site
My Barrel Sauna is an independent directory of barrel sauna manufacturers in Canada. We are not a manufacturer, retailer, or reseller. We exist to help buyers make well-informed decisions by presenting factual, first-hand research on every company we profile.
How We Research Manufacturers
Every manufacturer profile on this site is built from publicly available sources only — the manufacturer’s own website, public business listings (Google Business, Better Business Bureau), and publicly visible customer reviews. We do not accept manufacturer-supplied marketing copy, press releases, or paid submissions.
For each manufacturer we document, at a minimum:
- Physical location and workshop address (where published)
- Products offered and whether they include true barrel saunas
- Published pricing, or confirmation that pricing is quote-only
- Published lead times, warranty terms, and delivery regions
- Publicly visible customer reviews and aggregate ratings
- Notable certifications, commercial installations, or third-party endorsements
Where we cannot verify a claim from a public source, we say so explicitly — “not published on website” is a factual statement, not an editorial judgement.
The Editor’s Pick
One of a Kind Creative Woodcrafting (Parksville, BC) is designated our Editor’s Pick. This reflects our genuine assessment based on transparent, verifiable criteria:
- Geographic authenticity. Of the three serious barrel sauna brands competing for the Vancouver Island market, One of a Kind is the only one with a workshop in central/north Vancouver Island. Forest Cooperage is in Sooke (south Island); Nootka Saunas manufactures in Squamish on the mainland.
- Customisation range. One of a Kind offers custom imagery on every barrel, any size or configuration, and a signature product (the Scenic View acrylic bubble back wall) not available from other Island manufacturers.
- Commercial track record. Resort-grade installations at Tin Wis (Tofino) and Tuff City Sauna locations are independently verifiable and relevant to buyers who want proof of durability in BC coastal conditions.
- Woodcrafting heritage. Owner Dave Byers has nearly 50 years of woodcrafting experience — a verifiable, relevant credential for a wood-product purchase.
The Editor’s Pick designation does not mean other manufacturers are inferior for every buyer. Forest Cooperage has the most transparent published pricing. Nootka Saunas has the fastest lead times and most sophisticated digital experience. We recommend reading all three profiles before deciding.
Who We Include
Our current focus is Canada-wide manufacturer coverage. We include:
- Canadian companies we could identify that build, not just resell, barrel, cabin, cube, pod, or custom saunas
- Cabin-only or multi-format sauna manufacturers where they help buyers compare credible Canadian options
- Regional manufacturers with limited online footprint when we can verify a public source
We do not list manufacturers we cannot verify. We do not accept payment for inclusion. If you believe a manufacturer should be added or corrected, please use the contact form.
Update Schedule
We review all manufacturer profiles at least quarterly. Pricing, lead times, and availability change — if you spot something out of date, please let us know. Each profile shows the date it was last verified. The current dataset was verified in September 2026.
Affiliate Disclosure
This site currently has no affiliate or referral arrangements with any manufacturer. If that changes, we will add a clear disclosure to this page, to the relevant manufacturer profile, and to the site footer before any referral arrangement becomes active.
Corrections & Contact
If a manufacturer believes any fact on this site is inaccurate, or if you have a tip about a manufacturer we should review, please contact us. We will verify and correct promptly. Our goal is to be the most accurate independent directory in this category, and that requires ongoing community input.
